Nakuru County Returning Officer Silas Rotich says the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in the region is ready to conduct the repeat Presidential poll on Thursday.
Speaking at a stakeholder’s forum on election preparedness level in Nakuru on Tuesday, Rotich said that the Nakuru County office has already received all the election material except the ballot papers.
The returning officer said that the requisite training of election officials is complete as well as plans for distribution of election material to respective 1,086 polling centers in the County.
While urging eligible voters to turn out in large numbers and vote peacefully, Rotich reassured the electorates in the County of a seamless and credible exercise to begin at 6am and end at 5pm.
Media Council of Kenya Chief Executive Officer David Omwoyo appealed to the media to observe ethics in its practice in the bid to disseminate information regarding the election and its results to avoid misinformation which he says may trigger discord among citizens.
